Learning outcomes:
This subject provides theoretical basics of physical measurements and skills needed for the processing and evaluation results of measurement. To apply obtained knowledge in particular physical experiments.
Brief course content:
1. Measurement of physical quantities, measurement methods –process of  measurement, measurement method, the classification of measurement methods.
2. Errors and uncertainties, a way how the result of measurement should be written  - measurement error, classification of errors, absolute and relative error, uncertainty, absolute and relative standard uncertainty, accuracy class, the expanded uncertainty, rules for writing and rounding values of errors, uncertainty and the value measured quantity, write the result.
3. Some basic measuring instruments - caliper, band instrument, micrometer, stopwatch, thermometer, scales, amperemeter.
4. Processing of measurement results - the method of least squares fitting, plotting of graphs.
5. Measurement System IP Coach - basic functions, description of program windows, editing tables and graphs, process of  measurement, processing of the measurement results.
6. Principles of laboratory work and safety at work.
