Prerequisites:
Course completion requirements:
Assessment and completion of the course: Credit test and examination
Continuous assessment: Student passes the continuous assessment and receives credits when he or she meets the requirement to obtain at least 21% out of 40%.
During the semester students solve project for which they can obtain a maximum of 30 points and a test, for which they can obtain a maximum of 10 points. From the project, as well as from the test they must obtain at least half. The project is presented orally in a group.
Final assessment: Student passes the final assessment and passes the examination when he or she meets the requirement to obtain at least 31% out of 60%.
The final exam consists of three modules, example, test and theoretical module. For each module, students can obtain maximally 20 points, 60 points in total.  Students must obtain at least 10 points in each module
Overall assessment: Overall assessment is the sum of the assessments obtained by students in the assessment period. The overall result is determined in accordance with the internal regulations of the Technical University in Košice. (Study Regulations, the internal regulation principles of doctoral studies)
Learning outcomes:
Students on this course acquire knowledge of design of middle levels of the Information and Control Systems (ICS) architectures, skills with practical applications of web technologies in industrial management, creation of virtual and remote environment for interactive simulation and remote control of technological processes, usage and application of the most advanced information and communication technologies for the design and implementation of ICS architectures of industrial enterprises. Within the exercises they will obtain competences in areas of project work, teamworking and they will apply their knowledge and skills in design and realization of the integrated structure of the ICS on the technological systems in the laboratories, competences to apply their knowledge in area of the ICS configuration, industrial database systems, computer networks, visualization products and services for intelligent interaction. Deliverables of the course will be advanced case studies and essays based on the latest knowledge and technologies (Production and Machine Intelligence, Factory of the Future, Internet of Machine, Industrial Workflow, Manufacturing Cloud). Students will obtain competence to realize more advanced case projects for selected corporate industrial environments.
Brief course content:
• Models and architecture of the ICS for small, medium and large enterprises with a focus on the MES level (Manufacturing Execution System) and CPPSS (Collaboration Planning and Production System and Services)
• Functionality, protocols and standards of  ICS middle level and its connection to technological and SCADA / HMI (visualization level management) levels, technological architectures of DCS (Distributed Control System)
• Technologies of the process data acquisition using bidirectional transaction managers and process database servers - Historians, redundancy and systems availability mechanisms (failover, store and forward, and etc.). Diagnostics and data collection analysis from connected data points.
• Systems of acquisition and historization of process data in real time in historian database servers. Subsystems, configuration, parameterization of historian database systems.
• Monitoring of the quality and efficiency of production - monitoring of products and genealogy, adjustment of recipes, production processes and plans, performance monitoring, and material consumption in real-time, calculation of OEE and TEEP.
• Providing and publishing of data for middle and higher levels of ICS through web and mobile technologies, industrial portals and services.
• Mobile and web reporting (types of reports, correlations and reports from multiple data sources, integration of other web content, etc.) - advanced case studies and projects
• Production intelligence, integration and cooperation - the FoF concept (Factory of the Future) and 4.0 Industry, industrial workflow, production analysis and decision support - an advanced case studies and projects
• Virtualization and cloud technologies in the industry - CM (Cloud Manufacturing) and IoM (Intertnet of Machine) - an advanced case studies and projects.
