Assessment and completion of the course: Credit test and examination
Continuous assessment: Student passes the continuous assessment and receives credits when he or she meets the requirement to obtain at least 21% out of 40%.

Overall assessment: Overall assessment is the sum of the assessments obtained by students in the assessment period. Learning outcomes:
The subject is a part of the basic course of fundamental physics. The aim of the subject is to provide fundamentals of fluid mechanics, geometrical optics, special theory of relativity and physics of atomic nuclei.
Brief course content:
Fluid mechanics. Ideal and real fluids. Viscosity. Surface and volume forces. Basis equation of hydrodynamics. Barometric formula. Hydrodynamics. Flow of mass and continuity equation. Euler’s equation. Basics of mechanics of ideal liquids. Bernoulli equation. Equations of sound field in fluids. Movement of viscous liquid. Laminar flow of liquid through narrow tube. Movement of solid body in viscous liquid.
Geometrical optics. Basic laws of geometrical optics. Simple optical devices.
Special theory of relativity. Galilean Transformations. Michelson - Morley Experiment. Postulates of Special Theory of Relativity and Lorentz Transformations. Length Contraction. Time Dilation. Linear momentum, mass, energy.
Atomic nucleus and Radioactivity. Binding energy. Nuclear forces.  Nuclear reactions. Nuclear energy. Nuclear decay. Theory of nuclear decay.
