Course completion requirements:
Assessment and completion of the course: Graded credit test
Continuous assessment:
preparedness for consultations, knowledge, solving and processing of sub-problems
Final assessment: Student passes the final assessment and passes the examination when he or she meets the requirement to obtain at least 51% out of 100%.

Overall assessment: Overall assessment is the sum of the assessments obtained by students in the assessment period. The overall result is determined in accordance with the internal regulations of the Technical University in Košice. (Study Regulations, the internal regulation principles of doctoral studies)
Learning outcomes:
The student will expand knowledge of the chosen field of material science and also will deepen the experience of solutions and processing of sub-problems arising from the topic of the diploma project. The student will be able to carry out experiments or to use theoretical and software tools for efficient solving of specific problems. He will become an active member of the research teams, able to professionally communicate the problems solved by him in the broader context of investigations of studied tasks and projects. The course represents the second stage of the study, consultations and problems solved within the diploma project.
Brief course content:
- Collection and study of information sources
- Analysis and consultation of sub-problems of the topic of the diploma project
- Handling and processing of sub-problems
- Application of software tools and theories, experimental work
- Preparation and presentation of diploma project

Monographs, articles and other information sources in the selected area as recommended by the supervisor.
